Day 19 of 30: A Day at the Zoo and Week Recap
I hope everyone had a great Father's Day. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon at the zoo with my family. It was a great time and the weather was perfect. After a couple of hours at the zoo we went to my in-laws and had a cook-out. For me, it was a great way to spend Father's Day.
I don't know if this is common of all marketers but it seems every time I am in public now I am looking at businesses and critiquing their marketing strategies. Niabi Zoo, for example. Their website is very informative and they are active on Social Media. They have a good balance of informative and created content. They also do a nice job of engaging with their customers. See the example below of a customer asking why there are two camel exhibits at the zoo instead of combining them:
The Social Media Manager for the zoo does a great job explaining. It shows commitment to the customer by giving a very detailed answer. The only critique I have is it took 24 hours for the zoo to respond, but I know running various Social Media accounts sometimes notifications do not show up instantly and you may notice a comment later, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Brand engagement leads to a positive experience with the brand, which then leads to brand loyalty - the goal for all businesses. If you are a business owner reading this and if you are on Social Media, you need to engage with your customers.
Looking back at last week, a lot of progress was made on video projects I am doing. Once they get released this week this will free up some time for me to do other things, like begin work on new websites and seek out some new clients for August and beyond.
The Ross Preserve video did very well. It has over 1,400 views on Facebook. Looking forward to doing a new drone project this week.
I also started the week with a lot of preparation for our Town Meeting which has received real good feedback. People are excited to help improve our small town in the middle of Illinois.
I'm really looking forward to this week. I just have a good feeling it's going to be a good one. On the personal side, Abby has three softball games and my wife is involved in helping with a benefit this weekend so it's going to be busy.
